A corrosion resistant coating, e.g. a zinc coating, is applied to an article, e.g. an Nd-Fe-B magnet, by embedding the article in a mass of particles containing a sublimable corrosion-resistant material or a precursor thereof, and heating the embedded article at a temperature below the solidus temperature of the corrosion-resistant material under a pressure of less than 65 Pa so as to cause a coherent layer of the corrosion-resistant material to be formed on the article by sublimation. Also disclosed is a method of coating a powder, such as Nd-Fe-B powder, with a layer, in which the powder is mixed with particles of a sublimable material, e.g. zinc, or a precursor thereof. The resultant mixture is heated at a temperature below the solidus temperature of the said particles under a pressure of less than 1 x 10 5 Pa so as to cause a coherent layer of the sublimable material to be foamed on the powder by sublimation.
On applique un revêtement résistant à la corrosion, par exemple, un revêtement de zinc, sur un article, par exemple, un aimant de Nd-Fe-B, en noyant cet article dans une masse de particules contenant un matériau sublimable résistant à la corrosion ou un précurseur de ce matériau, puis en réchauffant l'article noyé à une température inférieure à la température dite "Solidus" du matériau résistant à la corrosion à une pression inférieure à 65 Pa, de manière à provoquer la création sur l'article par sublimation d'une couche cohérente du matériau résistant à la corrosion. L'invention concerne également un procédé de revêtement d'une poudre, telle qu'une poudre de Nd-Fe-B, par une couche, ce qui consiste à mélanger la poudre avec des particules d'un matériau sublimable, par exemple du zinc, ou d'un précurseur de ce matériau. On réchauffe le mélange obtenu à une température inférieure à la température dite "Solidus" desdites particules à une pression inférieure à 1x10<5> Pa, de manière à provoquer la création sur la poudre par sublimation d'une couche cohérente du matériau sublimable.
