There is disclosed a method of applying activatable material (80) to a member (82) of an article of manufacture such as an automotive vehicle. According the method, the activatable material (80) is provided to an applicator (10) followed by applying the activatable material (80) to the member (82). Preferably, the activatable material (80) is applied in a condition that makes the material (80) suitable for allowing further processing or assembly of the member (82), the article of manufacture or both.
