ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a method of making a cable end loop, comprising providing a clamping sleeve of deformable material with an opening therethrough intermediate the ends there- of, passing a cable through said clamping sleeve, passing the end of the cable back into the sleeve to form a loop with the cable end visible through said opening, positioning an insert, made from a material harder than that forming the clamping sleeve, in said opening, and compressing said sleeve to lock the cable end in position, said insert preventing closure of said opening during compression of the clamping sleeve.
