ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of automatically controlling signal receiving in a mobile radiophone apparatus for data communication having an automatic receiving function comprises the steps of: (1) setting the mobile radiophone apparatus to an automatic receiving mode by making use of automatic receiving mode set information inputted through an operating part of a control unit (CU); (2) delivering, after detecting receiving to itself with the aid of a transmitter/ receiver unit, a receiving indication signal including an indi- cation for the automatic receiving mode to a data modem circuit; (3) establishing a link between the modem circuit and the data terminal, and thereafter disconnecting the connection through an audio line between the transmitter/receiver unit (TRU) and the control unit (CU) and connecting the transmitter/receiver unit (TRU) with the modem circuit, and thereafter delivering an answer tone signal to the transmitter/receiver unit (TRU); and starting to receive the data from a calling party in the transmitter/receiver unit and delivering the data to the data terminal. The mobile radiophone apparatus with use of the present method of automatically controlling signal receiving can auto- matically process received data even if an operator is absent, or is too busy to operate the equipment.
