A method of autoradiographic imaging is disclosed which comprises the steps of adding a radioisotope to a specimen to form a sample and contacting the sample with one side of an autoradiographic film containing at least one tabular grain emulsion which has an average aspect ratio greater than 6:1. After a sufficient time to form a latent image in the emulsion of the film, the film is separated from the sample and developed to make the latent image visible and to fix the image.
