This invetion is a method of bonding a window in a vehicle. The process comprises applying to a window an adhesive comprising a polymer having a flexible backbone and having silane moieties capable of silanol condensation and a tin catalyst; contacting the window with the window frame of a substrate wherein the adhesive is located between the window and the substrate; and allowing the adhesive to moisture cure. This process is especially useful when the substrate is unprimed metal, plastic or a composite, optionally coated with a coating. The method of the invention allows the bonding of a window into a substrate without the need for priming the surface of the substrate to which it is bonded. This is especially useful for bonding windows into automobiles.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de collage d'une vitre sur un véhicule. Ce procédé consiste à: appliquer sur une vitre un produit adhésif renfermant un polymère à squelette souple, des fractions de silane capables de condensation en silanol et un catalyseur à l'étain; apposer la vitre sur son cadre substrat, le produit adhésif se trouvant entre la vitre et le substrat; et laisser le produit adhésif sécher à l'humidité. Ce procédé convient tout particulièrement lorsque le substrat est formé par un métal, un plastique ou une matière composite enduit d'un revêtement, sans couche de fond. Ce procédé permet de coller une vitre sur un substrat sans application préalable d'un fond sur ce substrat. Cette solution est particulièrement avantageuse pour le collage de vitres sur des automobiles.
