Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is a method of preparing cereal derived poly- saccharides which are hydratable in cold water and are reduced in molecular weight. The cereal derived polysaccharides are prepared by a process including two steps of chemical hydrolysis followed by a heat treatment. The product is useful, for instance, as a binder in a foundry core system.
