- 1 - Abstract: A method of coating an article with a varnish containing pigments giving a metallic effect, the method including electro-dipcoating an article with an aqueous electro-dipcoating agent which contains interference pigments comprising mica plates coated with titanium dioxide. The invention extends also to articles with a varnish, whenever coated according to the method, and to interference pigments comprising mica plates coated with titanium dioxide for use as pigments giving metallic effects in electro-dipcoating agents.
