Cutting edges, particularly of razor blades, are coated with PTFE by spraying the edge with an aqueous dispersion of PTFE of molecular weight at least 500,000; subjecting the coated edge to an ionising radiation dose of up to 50 Mrads in the presence of oxygen; and then sintering the coating.
