A method of color image processing comprises at least the following steps: the color image is converted into an intermediate image comprising components that depend solely on the H and S components of the original image in an HSV or HLS representation; the intermediate image comprising at least two components X and Y, determined by functions especially of the H component, these functions taking the same value when the H component is zero or equal to one; a new image comprising only one component is generated from the intermediate image, the component of this new image being a function of the components of the intermediate image. The disclosed method can be applied especially to the heightening of contrast in remote surveillance, and to image processing before segmentation in mobile robotics.
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'image couleur consistant à convertir l'image couleur en une image intermédiaire comprenant des composantes dépendant seulement des composantes H et S de l'image originale dans une représentation HSV ou HLS, l'image intermédiaire comprenant au moins deux composantes X et Y, déterminées par des fonctions, en particulier de la composante H, ces fonctions prenant le même valeur lorsque la composante H est nulle ou égale à un, à produire une nouvelle image, comprenant seulement une composante, à partir de l'image intermédiaire, la composante de cette nouvelle image étant une fonction des composantes de l'image intermédiaire. Le procédé décrit peut être appliqué spécialement au renforcement de contraste dans la surveillance à distance, et au traitement d'image avant segmentation dans des robots mobiles.
