The invention concerns a method of manipulating a compensation fibre such that it can compensate the high negative dispersion of a fibre laser in the second optical window. According to the invention, the active fibre of the fibre laser is linked to a compensation fibre which consists of a step-index quartz glass core with a sheathing. By doping the compensation fibre sheathing with fluorine in a targeted manner, a positive value is set for the dispersion of the compensation fibre. Subsequent dimensioning of the length of the compensation fibre increases the set dispersion value to the positive dispersion value necessary for complete compensation of the dispersion of the fibre laser.
Le procédé selon l'invention vise à manipuler une fibre de compensation de telle manière qu'elle permette de compenser la forte dispersion négative d'un laser à fibre dans la seconde fenêtre optique. Pour ce faire, on relie la fibre active du laser à fibre à une fibre de compensation constituée d'un coeur en verre de quartz à saut d'indice et d'une gaine. Par un dopage au fluor ciblé de la gaine de cette fibre de compensation, on la règle à une valeur de dispersion positive. Puis en dimensionnant la longueur de la fibre, on augmente la valeur de dispersion ainsi réglée jusqu'à obtention de la valeur de dispersion positive nécessaire à la compensation complète de la dispersion du laser à fibre.
