The present invention provides a method of computing fuel nozzle spray parameters comprising steps of using a virtual or physical information collector (16 or 52) which is divided into a plurality of regions to collect information relating to a spray of a fuel nozzle (12 or 34) and analyzing the information collected in the individual regions of the collector (16 or 52) to determine quantitative values of the spray parameters of the fuel nozzle (12 or 34).
