A method of joining female and male fiberglass-reinforced plastic pipes, the female pipe having an end portion with an inner surface defining a non-threaded socket, the male pipe having an end portion, the method comprising the steps of (a) inserting the end portion of the male pipe into the socket of the female pipe, (b) wrapping a UV-curable resin- impregnated cloth around a portion of the female pipe adjacent the end thereof and around a portion of the male pipe, and (c) thereafter exposing the cloth to UV light to cure the resin and provide a sealed joint between the pipes.
