Petunia explants are irradiated with heavy ion beams and chimeric individuals differentiating from the explants are selected (FSRP method). Then chimeric individuals having stable characters, which have re-differentiated from explants obtained from these chimeric individuals by the tissue culture method, are selected (SSRP method). Thus, chimeric plants such as variegated petunia can be efficiently constructed.
Selon l'invention, des explants de pétunia sont irradiés au moyen de faisceaux d'ions lourds et des individus chimériques se différentiant des explants sont sélectionnés (procédé FSRP). On sélectionne ensuite des individus chimériques de caractères stables qui se sont différentiés à nouveau grâce à un procédé de culture tissulaire d'explants tirés des individus chimériques (procédé SSRP). Il est ainsi possible de construire de façon efficace des plantes chimériques, notamment des pétunias à tâches de couleurs variées.
