ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In continuous casting of steel, molten steel in a tun- dish is adjusted to have super heat of 30-70°C before being in- troduced into a mould. The cast piece drawn out of the mould by means of rollers is rolled near the leading end of the crater at a reduced rate of 0.5-2.0 mm/m. This method has the advantage of decreasing the internal defects of the cast piece, such as center porosities, center pipes or center segregations.
