ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel method of human female contraception is dis- closed wherein, (1) in a first phase starting on about the ninth to about the twelfth day of the female cycle (first day of the cycle being first day of menstruation) an effective amount of one or more suitable progestagenic substance(s) is administered in daily or shorter intervals for about three to about six days, followed at substantially similar intervals by (2) a second phase administration for about one to about three days starting from a- bout the fourth to about the seventh day after the first phase of a substance having both an effective amount of the suitable pro- gestagenic substance(s), together with a peptide possessing LHRF (Luteinizing Hormone Release Factor), which may be called an LHRF analogue, followed by (3) a third phase administration of an ef- fective amount of the progestative substance(s) until the total time of the progestative substance administration with and with- out the LHRF compound is from about seven to about fifteen days. A new contraceptive preparation or pack is disclosed comprising a suitable number of dosage units ranging from about seven to a- bout fifteen corresponding with the total time abovementioned, of which the first three to six dosage units contained as hormonal compound only an effective amount (generally about 0.01 mg to 2.5 mg per unit) of a suitable progestative substance, followed by one to three dosage units containing an effective amount of a suitable orally LHRF active peptide (generally from about 0.1 to 25 mg per unit of LHRF analogue) in addition to the noted level of progestational substance, with the remaining dosage units again containing only the progestational substance at the level noted. This contraceptive method together with the preparation or pack prevent a deviation from the normal hormonal pattern while at the same time avoiding nausea, weight increase, and irregular bleed- ings, etc.
