A train is driven by drive stations positioned along a track for frictionally contacting side plates on the train. The drive speed is controlled in response to sensors located at each drive station sensing a position of a wheel and a side plate for confirming a presence of the train. A start command is transmitted from the drive station driving the train to a second drive station downstream when a lead car is within a preselected distance from the second drive station. The drive station at the second drive station is quickly accelerated to a target speed for synchronizing the first drive station with the second drive station. After receiving the train, the second drive station then transmits a stop command to the first drive station for fast decelerating the drive station to a stop.
Un train est entraîné par des stations d'entraînement positionnées le long d'une voie afin d'entrer en contact par frottement des plaques latérales situées sur le train. La vitesse d'entraînement est commandée au moyen de capteurs situés sur chaque station d'entraînement et détectant la position d'une roue et d'une plaque latérale en vue de confirmer la présence du train. Une commande de démarrage est transmise à partir de la station d'entraînement qui entraîne le train vers une seconde station d'entraînement en aval lorsqu'une voiture de tête est à une distance présélectionnée de la seconde station d'entraînement. La station d'entraînement sur la seconde station d'entraînement est rapidement accélérée jusqu'à une vitesse cible en vue de synchroniser la première station d'entraînement avec la seconde station d'entraînement. Après réception du train, la seconde station d'entraînement transmet alors une commande d'arrêt à la première station d'entraînement pour une décélération rapide de la station d'entraînement jusqu'à l'arrêt.
