ABSTRACT Compositions and method for the control of coccidiosis in domestic animals. especially poultry. by oral administration of at least one compound of formula: Image (I) wherein: R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or a halomethyl group; and R2 represents a hydrogen atom; and R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an allyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety and 1 or 2 carbon atoms in the alkoxy moiety a hydrozyalkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an alkanoyl group having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, an alkenoyl group having from 3 to 11 carbon atoms, a haloacetyl group, an aromatic acyl group, an heterocyclic acyl group, an N-alkyl-carbamoyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, or a hydroxy group; 2 or each of R2 and R3 represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and inorganic acid-addition salts thereof. The compounds are conveniently administered in the animal feed or drinking water. Apart from the case when R2 and R3 simultaneously both represent hydrogen atoms and R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, all the compounds of formula (I) and their salts are new.
