A method of controlling a loop-back process between a local device and a remote device in an Ethernet passive optical network is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: (a) adding a predetermined field into a loop-back control OAM PDU in the loop-back process, the predetermined field having distinguishing messages for initiation of a loop-back process and messages for termination of a loop-back process; and (b) the local device and the remote device performing a loop-back process using the loop-back control OAM PDU.

La présente divulgation décrit une méthode qui permet de commander un processus de bouclage entre un dispositif local et un dispositif éloigné de réseau optique passif Ethernet. Cette méthode comprend les étapes qui suivent : a) adjonction d'un champ prédéterminé dans une PDU OAM du processus de bouclage, le champ prédéterminé présentant des messages distinctifs pour l'amorçage d'un processus de bouclage et des messages pour l'achèvement d'un processus de bouclage; et b) exécution par le dispositif local et le dispositif éloigné d'un processus de bouclage au moyen de la PDU OAM de commande de bouclage.
