The invention relates to a method of controlling OSI (ISO) layer-two loops for telecommunication networks. The invention is characterised by the use of links that are disabled by a standard protocol which prevents the occurrence of loops, for the sending of messages to a single user (unicast) with a known destination. The inventive method can be used to optimise the efficiency of the network with regards to the traffic directed towards a single user between destinations that are connected by means of a medium. In this way, the method can also be used to maintain the objective of any standard loop-prevention protocol which is applied to the system for multicast and broadcast traffic, i.e. traffic which can generate flooding and other problems caused by the loops, while increasing efficiency between switches having links that have been disabled by the standard loop-prevention protocol for unicast traffic.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de commande de boucles au niveau deux de OSI (ISO) pour réseaux de télécommunication caractérisé par l'utilisation de liens désactivés par un protocole conventionnel évitant l'existence de boucles en vue de l'envoi de messages vers un seul utilisateur (transmission à destination unique) destinataire connu. L'invention permet l'optimisation de l'efficacité du réseau en termes de trafic orienté vers un seul utilisateur parmi des destinataires connectés à travers un média. Le procédé de cette invention permet également de préserver l'objectif d'un quelconque protocole conventionnel d'élimination de boucles appliqué sur le système pour le trafic multidiffusion et diffusion, qui est le trafic pouvant générer un engorgement et d'autres problèmes en raison des boucles, à mesure que l'efficacité augmente entre les commutateurs dont les liens ont été désactivés par le protocole conventionnel d'élimination de boucles pour le trafic de transmission à destination unique.
