A method of controlling transmission of a facsimile has the following steps: determining whether a training end signal is obtained when reception energy has been detected, determining whether a tonal signal at a lower side frequency with respect to a carrier frequency is detected when the training end signal was not obtained, and identifying the reception energy as a control signal when the tonal signal has been detected.
