METHOD OF CORRECTING DOPPLER NAVIGATOR Abstract of the Disclosure An improved method of processing the data from an airborne monopulse Doppler navigational radar, thereby to determine the aircraft velocity, is disclosed. In such method, the difference channel return data from each of three sequentially formed radar beams are rotated through an angle to insure that the monopulse difference pattern null associated with each of the three beams re- mains parallel to a selected isodop. Following rotation, the data are normalized by the sum channel data to reduce the effect of scintillation errors. After normalization the data undergoes a processing technique to determine the Doppler frequency associated with the monopulse null for each of the three beams. The Doppler frequency data are subsequently converted to velocity data and combined with velocity data obtained from an inertial platform in order to reduce the long term drift errors associated with the inertial platform.
