A method of creating a zonal isolation above a target zone (4) in an underground wellbore (1) comprises: inserting a slurry injection tubing (3) into the wellbore; arranging within an annular space surrounding said tubing an particle accumulation means (5), such as an expandable screen or an area where the slurry velocity is reduced; and pumping a slurry comprising a carrier fluid and granular material down via the slurry injection tubing (3) and the target zone (4) and then up into the annular space, such that at least some granular material accumulates and forms an elongate zonal isolation (10) in the annular space between the target zone and the particle accumulation means, which zonal isolation is removable and exerts a limited radial force to the surrounding formation, thereby reducing the risk of formation damage.

L'invention concerne une isolation zonale au-dessus d'une zone cible (4) dans un puits de forage souterrain (1). Elle consiste en ce qui suit: insérer un tubage d'injection de suspension (3) dans le puits de forage; ménager à l'intérieur d'un espace annulaire qui entoure ledit tubage un moyen d'accumulation de particules (5) tel qu'un écran pliable ou une zone dans laquelle la vitesse de la suspension est réduite; et pomper vers le bas, en passant par le tubage d'injection de suspension (3) et la zone cible (4), une suspension comprenant un fluide porteur et une matière granulée, qui est ensuite pompée vers le haut, dans l'espace annulaire, de manière à ce qu'au moins une partie de la matière granulée s'accumule et forme une isolation zonale allongée (10) dans l'espace annulaire entre la zone cible et le moyen d'accumulation de particules, ladite isolation zonale étant amovible; elle exerce une force radiale limitée sur la formation environnante, ce qui a pour effet de réduire les risques d'une détérioration de la formation.
