A method for delivering a geometric type stress relief element (50) to a terminated electrical cable (10) is provided. The cable (10) contains a conductor (12) surrounded by at least one coaxial layer of insulator (14), semiconductor (16), grounded wires (18) and cable jacket (21). First, the terminated cable is tapered to expose a portion of the conductor (12) so as to protrude beyond the insulation (14), which protrudes beyond semiconductor (16), which protrudes beyond the conductive wires (18). A geometric stress cone (50) is preloaded onto a cold shrink tube (70). The terminated, tapered cable is inserted into the cold shrink tube (70). The cold shrink tube (70) is removed and the geometric stress cone (50) collapses onto the tapered cable. The cable (10) is rated for supplying high voltage.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire un élément (50) de recuit de détente de type géométrique sur un câble électrique (10) final. Ledit câble (10) contient un conducteur (12) entouré par au moins une couche coaxiale d'un isolant (14), d'un semi-conducteur (16), de fils bobinés (18) et d'une gaine (21) de câble. Premièrement, le câble final est effilé, de manière à exposer une partie du conducteur (12), de façon à faire saillie à l'arrière de l'isolation (14), qui fait saillie à l'arrière du semi-conducteur (16), lequel fait saillie à l'arrière des fils conducteurs (18). Un cône (50) de contrainte géométrique est préchargé sur une gaine thermorétrécissable (70) à froid. Le câble fileté, final est inséré dans la gaine thermorétrécissable (70) à froid, puis la gaine thermorétrécissable (70) à froid est retirée et le cône (50) de contrainte géométrique s'effondre sur le câble fileté. Le câble (10) est conçu pour supporter une haute tension.
