The current invention relates to a method of detecting antibiotic resistant microorganisms, comprising culturing microorganisms in or on a chromogenic agar that has been supplemented with at least one .beta.-lactam antibiotic, provided that the .beta.-lactam is not oxacillin. The current invention also relates to kits used for the detection of antibiotic resistant organisms.
L'invention concerne des méthodes de détection de microorganismes résistants à un antibiotique. Cette méthode de détection consiste à cultiver des microorganismes dans ou sur un agar-agar chromogénique dans lequel on a ajouté au moins un antibiotique .beta.-lactame, à la condition que le .beta.-lactame ne soit pas de l'oxacilline. L'invention concerne également des trousses utilisées pour la détection d'organismes résistants à un antibiotique.
