It is of the type consisting in: calculating the components of the light intensity gradient vector E at every point of a window F, centered on a point of a block representative of the medium, and it is characterized in that it furthermore consists in summing elementary matrices M for all the points of the window F, diagonalizing said sum matrix A so as to determine its eigenvalues .lambda.1, .lambda.2, .lambda.3, quantifying, at the center of the window, the minimum of the said eigenvalues .lambda.1, .lambda.2, .lambda.3, and with the constraint U T × D = 1, eliminating the contribution of the largest eigenvalue, defining a multidirectional error by integrating it in the plane defined by the eigenvectors corresponding to the remaining eigenvalues, assigning the multidirectional error to the image point on which the window F is centered, and calculating the multidirectional errors assigned to all the image points of the image block.

Elle est du type consistant à: calculer les composantes du vecteur gradient intensité lumineuse E en tout point d'une fenêtre F, centrée sur un point d'un bloc représentatif du milieu, et elle est caractérisée en ce qu'elle est caractérisée en ce qu'elle consiste en outre à effectuer la somme des matrices élémentaires M pour tous les points de la fenêtre F, diagonaliser ladite matrice somme A pour déterminer ses valeurs propres lambda 1, lambda 2, lambda 3, quantifier au centre de la fenêtre, l'erreur globale minimale du vecteur flux optique U en fonction desdites valeurs propres lambda 1, lambda 2 et lambda 3, et avec la contrainte U<T> xD = 1, éliminer la contribution de la valeur propre la plus grande, définir une erreur multidirectionnelle en l'intégrant dans le plan défini par les vecteurs propres correspondant aux valeurs propres restantes, affecter l'erreur multidirectionnelle au point image sur lequel est centrée la fenêtre F, et calculer les erreurs multidirectionnelles affectées à tous les points images du bloc image.
