The present invention relates to prognostic methods which are useful in medicine, particularly cancer chemotherapy. The object of the invention to provide a method for assessing GST -pi expression levels in fixed or fixed and paraffin embedded tissues and prognosticate the probable resistance or sensitivity of a patient's tumor to treatment with platinum-based therapies by examination of the amount of GST -pi mRNA in a patient's tumor cells and comparing it to a predetermined threshold expression level. More specifically, the invention provides to oligonucleotide primer pair GST-piand methods comprising their use for detecting levels of GST-pi mRNA.
La présente invention concerne des procédés de pronostique qui s'avèrent utiles en médecine, notamment en chimiothérapie du cancer. L'invention vise à fournir un procédé permettant d'évaluer les niveaux d'expression de GST -pi dans des tissus fixes ou fixes et enrobés de paraffine et de pronostiquer la résistance ou la sensibilité probable de la tumeur d'un patient au traitement par des thérapies à base de platine en analysant la quantité deGST -pi d'ARNm dans les cellules tumorales d'un patient et en la comparant à un niveau d'expression seuil prédéterminé. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement la GST-pi à paire d'amorces nucléotidiques, et des procédés comportant son utilisation pour la détection des niveaux de GST-pi d'ARNm.
