A system and method for determining an elec-tromagnetic response from a region in an earth formation. Re-ceivers where raw response signals (V raw) are measured are at different offset distances (L1, L2) from a transmitter and are electromagnetically coupled to the transmitter by a support structure. The raw response signals (V raw) are adjusted accord-ing to an exemplary method to provide an adjusted signal (V adj). The effect of the support structure on the raw response signals (V raw) is removed or reduced for the adjusted signal (V adj) and the adjusted signal (vadj) can be interpreted to determine infor-mation that is masked in each of the raw response signals (vraw). The adjusted signal (vadj) reflects the electromagnetic response from the region of the earth formation.
L'invention porte sur un système et un procédé qui permettent de mesurer une réponse électromagnétique transitoire en provenance d'une région d'une formation de terrain. Des récepteurs dans lesquels sont mesurés des signaux de réponse bruts (Vraw) sont disposés à des distances différentes (L1, L2) par rapport à un émetteur, émetteur auquel les récepteurs sont électromagnétiquement couplés par une structure de support. On ajuste les signaux de réponse bruts (Vraw) selon un procédé illustratif afin d'obtenir un signal ajusté (Vadj). On élimine ou on réduit l'effet de la structure de support sur les signaux de réponse bruts (Vraw) à la base du signal ajusté (Vadj) et l'on interprète le signal ajusté (Vadj) afin de déterminer les informations qui sont masquées dans chacun des signaux de réponse bruts (Vraw). Le signal ajusté (Vadj) reflète la réponse électromagnétique en provenance de la région de la formation de terrain.
