The present invention provides a method of specifically detecting the presence of one or more Mycobacteria of the M. tuberculosis complex, said method comprising detecting ilvC nucleic acid of one or more Mycobacteria of the M. tuberculosis complex in a sample under condi-tions that do not detect ilvC nucleic acid of the M. avium complex. The invention also provides methods of diagnosis and treatment of tuberculo-sis in a subject employing the specific detection ilvC nucleic acid of one or more Mycobacteria of the M. tuberculosis complex.

La présente invention concerne une méthode permettant de détecter spécifiquement la présence d'une ou plusieurs mycobactéries du complexe M. tuberculosis, ladite méthode consistant à détecter l'acide nucléique du gène ilvC d'une ou plusieurs mycobactéries du complexe M. tuberculosis dans un échantillon dans des conditions qui ne détectent pas l'acide nucléique du gène ilvC du complexe M. avium. L'invention concerne également des méthodes de diagnostic et le traitement de la tuberculose chez un patient à l'aide de la détection spécifique de l'acide nucléique du gène ilvC d'une ou plusieurs mycobactéries du complexe M. tuberculosis.
