A method of disinfecting the food contact surfaces of a food packaging machine comprises introducing to the machine an aqueous solution comprising from about 0.1 % to about 1 % by weight of hydrogen peroxide and from about .01 % to about .1 % by weight of sodium acid pyrophosphate. The food contact surfaces are contacted with the solution at a temperature of at least about 70 ·C for a time period of at least about 15 minutes.

Procédé de désinfection des surfaces au contact de denrées alimentaires dans des machines de conditionnement d'aliments, consistant à introduire dans la machine une solution aqueuse renfermant de 0,1 à 1 % en poids environ de peroxyde d'hydrogène et de 0,01 à 0,1 % en poids environ de pyrophosphate d'acide de sodium. Les surfaces de contact des aliments sont soumises à cette solution sous une température se situant vers 70 ~C pour une durée d'environ 15 minutes.
