A method of dressing a threaded grinding wheel (20) for grinding crown gears. The method comprises providing a dressing tool (30) in the form of a pinion member (14) with the dressing tool (30) having the same pitch as a mating pinion member (14) of the crown gear (2). Rotating the dressing tool (30) and the grinding wheel (20) at respective velocities whereby the dressing tool (30) and grinding wheel (20) may run in mesh with one another. Moving the dressing tool (30) across the width of the grinding wheel (20) rotating with the dressing tool (30) and grinding wheel (20) rotating in mesh, with the dressing tool (30) moving completely along the width of the grinding wheel (20). The path that the dressing tool (30) moves along being defined as an arcuate path (38) about a point (16) on the grinding wheel (30) corresponding to a center point of the mating pinion (14).

L'invention concerne un procédé de dressage d'une meule à filets (20) pour rectifier des roues dentées.
