The invention relates to a method of drying a fiber web and an arrangement in a fiber web drying apparatus, the fiber web (5) being dried between two tight bands (1, 2) that move in parallel in the same direction and turn around turning rolls (6a, 6b; 7a, 7b). The first band (1) is heated and the second band (2) is cooled. The fiber web (5) is guided through a drying zone, defined by the bands (1, 2), with at least one felt or wire (3, 4), so that the fiber web comes into contact with the surface of the first, heated band (1) and the felt or wire (3, 4) is between the fiber web (5) and the second, cooled band (2). The position of the edge of the band (1, 2) is measured by means of a sliding block (11) which is brought into contact with the edge of the band, the material of the sliding block (11) being substantially harder than that of the band (1, 2).

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de séchage d'une nappe de fibres et à un ensemble destiné à un appareil de séchage de nappes de fibres, la nappe de fibres (5) étant séchée entre deux bandes tendues (1,2) se déplaçant en parallèle dans la même direction et tournant autour de cylindres rotatifs (6a, 6b; 7a, 7b). La première bande (1) est chauffée et la deuxième bande (2) est refroidie. La nappe de fibres (5) est entraînée à travers une zone de séchage délimitée par les bandes (1, 2) et par au moins un feutre ou une toile sans fin (3, 4), de manière à ce que la nappe de fibres entre en contact avec la surface de la première bande chauffée (1) et que le feutre ou la toile sans fin (3, 4) soit entre la nappe de fibres (5) et la deuxième bande refroidie (2).
