The invention provides a method of drying a porous body having interconnected surface pores and interior pores containing liquid. The body is irradiated with electromagnetic microwave radiation to heat it for an initial period at a rate of at least 2 ~C/minute, after which the irradiation is reduced so that the body is heated at a rate of at most 1 ~C/minute. Heat loss from the external surface of the body, during heating, is resisted.

Procédé pour le séchage d'un corps poreux comportant des pores superficiels en communication les uns avec les autres ainsi que des pores internes renfermant un liquide. On irradie le corps à l'aide d'un rayonnement électromagnétique du type micro-ondes afin de le chauffer pendant une période initiale à une vitesse d'au moins 2 ·C par minute, puis on réduit l'irradiation afin de ne chauffer le corps qu'à une vitesse ne dépassant pas 1 ·C par minute. Les pertes de chaleur à partir de la surface externe du corps sont inhibées pendant le chauffage.
