Selon l'invention, la dépollution est effectuée au moyen de particules de feutres de fibres minérales hydrophobes, dans lequel les feutres utilisés, préalable- ment comprimés pour leur stockage et transport, après un démottage sont soumis à un transport pneumatique suffisam- ment intense pour leur permettre de reprendre leur masse volumique d'origine, ledit transport pneumatique étant si- multanément utilisé pour disperser les particules à la surface de l'eau à traiter.
