57 METHOD OF ENHANCING CANCER THERAPY BY ADMINISTRATION OF UNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS Abstract of the Disclosure An improved in vivo method of inhibiting or retarding the growth of malignant tumor cells in a subject comprises administering the subject anti-tumor therapy, the improvement comprising administering to the subject at least one product comprising an agent selected from the group consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acids, prostaglandins, prostacyclins, thromboxanes, leukotrienes, malonealdehyde, triene epoxides, analogs thereof, salts thereof and mixtures thereof, said anti-tumor therapy and product being administered in amounts and for a period of time effective to attain said effect. An in vivo method of inhibiting or retarding the growth of malignant tumor cells comprises administering to a subject in need of such treatment an anti-tumor effective amount of at least one anti-cell antigen specific antibody; and administering to said subject at least one product comprising an agent selected from the group consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acids, prostaglandins, prostacyclins, thromboxanes, leukotrienes, malonealdehyde, triene epoxides, analogs thereof, salts thereof and mixtures thereof, said antibody and said product being administered in amounts and for a period of time effective to attain said effect. A kit for use in anti-tumor therapy comprises in separate containers an anti-tumor agent selected from 58 the group consisting of a chemotherapeutic agent, an anti-tumor hormonal agent, an anti-target cell antibody, external irradiation, internal irradiation, hyperthermia and biological response modifiers and a composition of matter comprising at least one agent selected from the group consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acids, prostaglandins, prostacyclins, thromboxanes, leukotrienes, malone- aldehyde triene epoxides, analogs thereof, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and mixtures thereof.
