ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides L-dopa (L-3,4- hydroxyphenylalanine) and simple derivatives thereof, either along or in combination with an L-dopa antimetabolite, enhance the reproductive efficiency of animals when administered to the female of the species. Number of pregnancies, size of litter in multiparous animals, and non-pregnant uterine state are improved. Animal feeds containing L-dopa and a derivative thereof are envisaged.
