ABSTRACT A method of enveloping electrical components in which two strips of thermoplastic material extend on either side of the article, in which thermal energy is supplied from without to one of the two surfaces of each of the two strips in such manner that the strip material on the relevant surface is heated to above the softening or melting temperature, while the remaining material remains below the softening or melting temperature, and in this condition the two strips with the softened or melted surfaces facing each other are pressed on the article and on each other on the side thereof, and a bond is produced by cooling below the softening or melting temperature.
