A method is provided of radially expanding a tubular element (4) extending into a wellbore formed in an earth formation, comprising the steps of arranging an expander (8) in the tubular element (4) , the expander (8) being operable to exert a radial force to the inner surface of the tubular element (4) , and radially expanding the tubular element by pressurising the interior of the tubular element (4) and simultaneously operating the expander (8) to exert said radial force to the inner surface of the tubular element . The expander (8) is operated to exert said radial force to the inner surface of the tubular element (4) independently from pressurising the interior of the tubular element .
Procédé de dilatation radiale d~un élément tubulaire (4) s~étendant dans un puits de forage réalisé dans une formation terrestre, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à mettre en place un outil de dilatation (8) dans l~élément tubulaire (4), l~outil de dilatation (8) pouvant être actionné pour exercer une force radiale sur la surface intérieure de l~élément tubulaire (4) ; et à dilater radialement l~élément tubulaire en mettant sous pression l~intérieur de l~élément tubulaire (4) et en actionnant simultanément l~outil de dilatation (8) pour exercer ladite force radiale sur la surface intérieure de l~élément tubulaire. L~outil de dilatation (8) est actionné pour exercer ladite force radiale sur la surface intérieure de l~élément tubulaire (4) indépendamment de la mise sous pression de l~intérieur de l~élément tubulaire.
