A nucleic acid is fixed to a carrier made of a synthetic resin (for example, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polyphenol, polystyrene, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride or aramid) by spotting a solution of the nucleic acid on the carrier, drying the solution and then irradiating the carrier with UV rays containing a component of a wavelength of 280 nm preferably in a dose of 100 mJ/cm2 or more.
