METHOD OF FLASH-BUTT CONTACT WELDING OF A PAIR OF WORKPIECES Abstract of the Disclosure A method of flash-butt contact welding of a pair of workpieces including flashing and upsetting of the workpieces to be welded. In the process of flashing the workpieces are stopped as soon as the actual value of the welding current attains a preset value of the stopping current; the stopped workpieces are put into vibratory motion. As the actual value of the welding current of the vibrating workpieces drops down, the workpieces resume their translation towards each other and stop vibrating.
