The present invention relates to the inhalation delivery of aerosols containing small particles. Specifically, it relates to a method of forming an aerosol for use in inhalation therapy. In a method aspect of the present invention, a method of forming an aerosol for use in inhalation therapy is provided. The method involves the following steps: (a) heating a substrate coated with a composition comprising a drug at a rate greater than 1000 °C/s, thereby forming a vapor; and, (b) allowing the vapor to cool, thereby forming an aerosol, which is used in inhalation therapy. In another method aspect of the present invention, a method of forming an aerosol for use in inhalation therapy is provided. The method involves the following steps: (a) heating a substrate coated with a composition comprising a drug to form a vapor, wherein the coated composition is in the form of a film less than 10 0 thick; and, (b) allowing the vapor to cool, thereby forming an aerosol, which is used in inhalation therapy. In another method aspect of the present invention, a method of forming an aerosol for use in inhalation therapy is provided. The method involves the following steps: (a) heating a substrate coated with a composition comprising a drug to form a vapor in less than 100 milliseconds, wherein the vapor has a mass greater than 0.1 mg; and, (b) allowing the vapor to cool, thereby forming an aerosol, which is used in inhalation therapy.
La présente invention a pour objet l'administration par inhalation d'un aérosol contenant de petites particules. Plus précisément, il s'agit d'une méthode de formation d'aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie. Une des façons de procéder de la présente invention, une méthode de formation d'aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie, est décrite. La méthode se compose des étapes suivantes : (a) chauffer un substrat enduit d'un composé comprenant un médicament à une vitesse supérieure à 1 000 C/s, formant ainsi une vapeur; et (b) permettre à la vapeur de se refroidir et de former ainsi un aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie. Une autre façon de procéder de la présente invention, une méthode de formation pour aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie, est décrite. La méthode se compose des étapes suivantes : (a) chauffer un substrat enduit d'un composé comprenant un médicament afin de former une vapeur, où le composé est sous forme d'une pellicule d'une épaisseur inférieure à 10 0; et, (b) permettre à la vapeur de se refroidir et de former ainsi un aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie. Une autre façon de procéder de la présente invention, une méthode de formation pour aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie, est décrite. La méthode se compose des étapes suivantes : (a) chauffer un substrat enduit d'un composé comprenant un médicament en moins de 100 millisecondes afin de former une vapeur, où la vapeur a une masse supérieure à 0,1 g; et, (b) permettre à la vapeur de se refroidir et de former ainsi un aérosol utilisé en inhalothérapie.
