A process for forming a specific length of extruded thermoplastics material trim strip for automobiles includes the step of extruding the strip directly onto an endless carrier belt (24) moving at a speed matching the emergence speed of the extrudate (22). The extrudate (22), therefore, is less subject to stresses causing unpredictable length changes on cooling. It is therefore possible to predetermine the cooled, matured, final lengths of strip and to provide moulded end portions on- line.
Procédé permettant de former une longueur spécifique d'une tringle de garnissage en matière thermoplastique extrudée pour automobiles, qui consiste à extruder la tringle directement sur une bande de support sans fin (24) se déplaçant à une vitesse correspondant à la vitesse de sortie de la matière extrudée (22). Par conséquent, cette dernière (22) est moins sujette aux contraintes provoquant des changements imprévisibles de longueur lors du refroidissement. Il est donc possible de prédéterminer la longueur finale refroidie des tringles et de former directement des parties terminales moulées.
