A method of forming a sheet metal casket comprises providing a sheet metal casket shell 12 having at least a portion of an end wall 16 and at least a portion of a side wall 14 and a round corner 220 between the portion of the end wall 16 and the portion of the side wall 14, and forming a generally planar corner 222 oriented at about a 45° angle relative to the portion of the end wall 16 and the portion of the side wall 14.
