A method for drilling, running casing, in, and/or cementing a brothel in a subterranean formation without significant loss of drilling fluid is disclosed, as well as compositions for use in such method. The method employs a drilling fluid comprising a fragile gel or having fragile gel behavior and providing superior oil mud rheology and overall performance. The fluid is especially advantageous for use in deep water wells because the fluid exhibits minimal difference between downhole equivalent circulating density and surface density notwithstanding differences in drilling or penetration rates. When an ester and isomerized olefin blend is used for the base of the fluid, the fluid makes an environmentally acceptable and regulatory compliant invert emulsion drilling fluid. The fluid preferably contains no organophilic clays.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de forer, d'installer un tubage dans un trou, et/ou de cimenter ce trou dans une formation souterraine sans perte significative de fluide de forage, ainsi que des compositions destinées à être utilisées dans ledit procédé. Ce procédé fait intervenir un fluide de forage qui comprend un gel fragile ou présentant un comportement fragile, et qui permet d'obtenir une rhéologie de boue huileuse et une performance globale supérieures. De préférence, ledit fluide est spécialement utilisé dans des puits d'eau profonds en raison de sa qualité à présenter une différence minimale entre la densité de circulation et la densité de surface équivalente dans le fond en dépit des différences associées aux vitesses d'avancement ou de pénétration. Lorsqu'un mélange d'esters et d'oléfines isomérisées est utilisé pour la base du fluide, celui-ci constitue un fluide de forage à émulsion inverse réglementaire et acceptable sur la plan environnemental. De préférence, ledit fluide ne contient pas d'argiles organophiles.
