ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a method of granulating mixtures of resorcinol and silicic acid, and to the resulting granulates and use thereof in vulcanisable rubber mixtures. The mixtures are suitable for use as adhesion promoters for steel cord. The method comprises conveying by screw conveyors mixtures of 5 to 95 wt% resorcinol and 5 to 95 wt % precipitated silicic acid to two rolls having then axes disposed vertically above one another and having variable surface pressure, compacting the mixtures there. Thereafter, a granulate having the desired maximum particle size is produced by a lump crusher and the remaining pulverulent part is separated.
