The invention concerns in vitro methods for the identification and production of antigenic peptides and peptide mixtures which simulate the in vivo processing of foreign protein or endogenous protein and the use of the antigenic peptides or peptide mixtures identified and produced by the method according to the invention to for example identify vaccine components against pathogens or tumour cells or competitive or antagonistic peptides in autoimmune diseases or for the production of vaccines.
