There is disclosed a method for improving the abrasion resistance of a cured rubber composition that is particularly suited for a tire tread compound comprising (a) dispersing from 1.0 phr to 30 phr of a C12-C36 alcohol and from 0.5 to 2.0 phr of sulfur throughout a dry isolated sulfur-vulcanizable rubber and (b) curing the rubber.
L'invention porte sur une méthode pour améliorer la résistance à l'abrasion d'une composition de caoutchouc réticulée, convenant particulièrement bien pour la semelle d'un pneu. La méthode consiste à : a) disperser de 1 à 30 phr d'un alcool C12-C36 et de 0,5 à 2,0 phr de soufre à travers un caoutchouc sec, isolé, vulcanisable au soufre; b) réticuler le caoutchouc.
