ABSTRACT This invention is concerned with a process for flocculating fines in wood fibre making stock systems. The performance of polyethylene oxide as a flocculating agent is improved and inconsistent results are avoided by controlling the free chlorine content of the water for the polymer solution preparation. The ferric ion content is also controlled.
