ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of increasing oil recovery by miscible displacement of oil with a micellar fluid having an HLB number, wherein at least two non-ionic cosurfactants are intermixed with a primary anionic surfactant, at least one of the cosurfactants having an HLB number higher than the required HLB number of the micellar fluid, and at least one of the cosurfactants having an HLB number lower than the HLB number of the micellar fluid. A method is also disclosed for adjusting the ratio of non-ionic cosurfac- tants in order to provide optimum miscibility over a broad range of reservoir conditions.
