ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification discloses a method of indicating the settings of remote-controlled, zonal final control elements for metering the supply of ink and/or dampening solution at a control remote-control console of a rotary printing press whereby the settings are converted into display signals which are made visible in order to represent the inking and/or dampening profile by means of light emitting diodes assigned to individual inking or dampening zones. More particularly the display signals are used for two separate displays of which one is in the form of a course analogue display of the inking and/or dampening profile, providing the base value for the settings for the course adjustment of the final control elements and the other in the form of a fine digital display, indicating the fractional value for the settings for the fine adjustments of the final control elements. This method provides the operating personnel with comprehensive information on the actual inking profile in analogue form while also providing digital information for fine adjustment of ink supply and/or dampening solution necessary to produce a high quality printed product.
